Toronto Right to Life (TRTL) is a human rights charity that aims to make abortion and assisted suicide unthinkable in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. We bring pro-life education to the public to change minds and save lives, and we activate and train pro-life Torontonians to defend life, while building the pro-life movement in Toronto. We are seeking an Executive Director to provide leadership for the organization, reporting to the board of directors and working from our Toronto office.
Responsibilities:
- Strategy: Develop and execute a long-term strategic plan in collaboration with the board to achieve our vision of an abortion-free and euthanasia-free society
- Education: Drive public outreach and public speaking to change minds and carry out TRTL’s educational mission
- People & Projects: Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of staff and volunteers, and oversee major programs and campaigns to ensure they are delivered effectively and on budget
- Communications: Prepare communications to members in letters, newsletters, email, and other forms to share about our work and opportunities for partnership
- Finance: Maintain sound financial oversight, budget planning, and compliance with charity regulations
- Fundraising: Lead donor cultivation and stewardship, and oversee fundraising campaigns to grow and sustain TRTL’s financial health
- Operations: Partner with Director of Operations to ensure efficient day-to-day functioning, including administration and systems to support the team
- External Relations: Serve as primary spokesperson with media, partner organizations, and the broader public
The ideal candidate will bring many of the following qualifications. We encourage applications from those who meet some of these criteria and are eager to grow.
- Adherence to the pro-life position, and our mission and strategy (required)
- Post-secondary education (preferred)
- Experience with pro-life outreach, especially End the Killing outreach
- Experience with fundraising and financial oversight
- Experience managing people and projects
- Strong organizational, office, interpersonal, and communications skills
