Position Summary
We are currently searching for a Program Supervisor – Counselling and Therapy Programs who will
be responsible for day to day running of various agency programs. The successful candidate will
oversee all aspects of program implementation and delivery, while ensuring all timelines are met.

Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties and Staff Supervision
- Provide clinical operational oversight to the staff and interns to ensure high quality service
delivery of the single session, brief counselling, therapy and group programming services. - Debrief with counsellors/ therapists and interns after assessments and counselling sessions
and provide support in case formulation, case management and development and
implementation of treatment plans. - Provide ongoing clinical supervision to the staff and interns and facilitate monthly group
supervision meetings with the team. - Provide crisis consultation and conflict resolution for staff, interns and volunteers.
- Ensure staff are meeting performance expectations and standards of their position through
weekly review and management of caseload and productivity for the counselling and therapy
team. - Manage the client waitlist, monitor staff caseload and assign clients accordingly.
- Monitor the clinical documentation of the counselling and therapy team and ensure that it
meets the best practice standards, agency policies and accreditation requirements. - Participate in the onboarding and the training process for team and interns and support with professional development of the staff.
- Participate in the Practicum Training program as an internal trainer as well as provide clinical
supervision to interns in the program. - Develop and implement ongoing training sessions for staff on assessment frameworks,
working with specific client populations, counselling interventions and other clinically
relevant topics. - Assist in the development of workshop/program content.
- Facilitate psycho-educational groups and workshops.
- Support with conducting assessments and providing single session, brief counselling, therapy
and group programming for clients as required. - Fulfill the duties of an on-call supervisor for a minimum of one day per week on ongoing
basis. - Provide back up support to cover shifts for other supervisors as needed to ensure
uninterrupted staff support and client service.
Program Management
- Ensure high level of quality in program delivery through the effective coordination/oversight
of program administration, promotion, scheduling, equipment/supplies, evaluations, guest
speakers, and facilitator scheduling. - Develop the work plans for the Counselling and Therapy programs as aligned with the
strategic direction of the agency. - Ensure implementation of performance objectives and monitor programming on a day-to-day
basis to meet desired outcomes. - Generate data reports for funders and monthly outcome and target monitoring on an ongoing
basis. - Ensure quality documentation and data integrity on the client database system.
- Support the Senior Manager- Clinical Programs to run the programs within the assigned
budgets. - Develop the operational infrastructure and processes for program delivery, monitoring,
training and evaluation with support from the Senior Manager- Clinical Programs. - Provide conflict resolution for ongoing issues/conflicts with programming whether related to
clients, volunteers or staff. - Develop and maintain of Program operating manuals and process flows.
- Participate in the recruitment process for staff and interns in the Counselling and Therapy
programs. - Respond to client complaints or concerns as required by the Client Complaints process.
- Assist the program leadership team in grant writing to support new program initiatives.
- Provide operational oversight to the booking registration system and generate analytic
reports to ensure smooth functioning and high-quality service delivery
Community Involvement
- Positively and professionally represent CFSPD in the community by participating and
collaborating with community partners, agencies and parishes on various projects,
committees and initiatives as requested. - Liaise with collateral contacts to communicate information and advocate on behalf of clients
and agency programs. - Network with external sources in the exchange of information through public speaking,
providing in-service training, attending conferences and symposiums. - Maintain current and up to date knowledge of community resources.
- Assist with the development of public relations and communication strategies to support
program goals and increase community awareness
Administration
- Complete monthly reports on program progress and needs.
- Oversight of the program registration processes including management of the client files on
the database including the Peer review process and ongoing audit of client files. - Monitor the client fee collection process and assist the Senior Manager- Clinical Programs
with revenue-based targets.
Other
- Participates in agency fundraising activities as deemed appropriate and necessary by Senior
Management. - Work with Senior Manager- Clinical Programs on initiatives for effective clinical services.
- Attends required agency activities and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, education or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a program supervisor and a minimum of 2 years’
experience in offering clinical supervision to staff and interns. - Minimum of 5 years of direct clinical experience working with vulnerable client groups.
- Professional training and experience in clinical modalities including but not limited to Solution
Focused Counselling, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is preferred. - Registration (or eligibility for registration) with a health regulated college (e.g. College of Social
Workers, Psychotherapists or Psychologists). - Working knowledge of dynamics of family violence including Intimate Partner Violence and its
effects on all family members. - Working knowledge and familiarity with needs of individuals who have experiences of mental
health and substance abuse struggles. - Knowledge of trauma informed principles and their application in a supervisory role.
- Ability to work from an anti-oppressive, and anti-racist framework.
- Understanding of all facets of diversity and ability to work and supervise from a lens of equity and inclusion.
- Ability to represent the agency to the staff, clients and community by ensuring the best image
is presented. - Experience managing volunteers is an asset.
- Ability to work with a forward-thinking mindset in a fast-paced, and ever-changing
environment. - Second language considered an asset.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check.
- A valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and relevant insurance.
Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including report writing.
- Excellent listening skills and confidence in talking to people both in groups and on a one-toone basis.
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple
priorities. - Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish, maintain and nurture teams, and
productive working relationships with other community-based organizations. - Application knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Enthusiastic, warm and friendly personality, with a demonstrated client-service orientation.
