Overview:
St. Anthony of Padua Parish is seeking a full time Sacramental Coordinator who, under the direction of the Pastor and in cooperative effort with the Pastoral Team, will create and update the Parish Sacraments Program Package such as Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, RCIA, RCIC. In addition, the Sacramental Coordinator directly facilitates all aspects of preparation process and complete all administrative work for First Holy Communion, RCIA, & RCIC.
Responsibilities:
First Holy Communion, RCIA and RCIC Only
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate Sacramental Preparation Team Members
- Collect registrations and baptismal certificates and complete all administrative work
- Maintain a contact list of the participants and their parents
- Ensure that appropriate material is available for the program and communicate the purchase of required resources to the Pastor and through consultation with the Office of Formation for Discipleship
- Assist in setting dates and preparing for liturgies (e.g. reconciliation service)
- Facilitate information and parent and child meetings for each sacrament
- Meet and present formation session to parents
- Responsible for the periodic evaluation of all aspects of the process
- Schedule and be available for all team meetings
- Arrange together with the Sacramental Team members for retreats and/or rehearsal for First Holy Communion program
- Ensure that volunteers are properly screened through the Volunteers Screening Committee
- Other responsibilities – create and update (online and on parish websites) the Parish Sacraments Program Package such as Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, RCIA, and RCIC
General Requirements:
- College or university education requirements and/or equivalent related experience
- Minimum one year of related work experience
- Excellent knowledge in the use of technology
- Desires to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the sacraments and their celebration

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- A criminal background check will be required of the successful applicant
