Position summary

The Associate Mission Leader works closely with the Director of Mission Integration to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic initiatives that foster the integration of the Felician-Franciscan charism, Mission Core Values, and Catholic identity throughout St. Felix Centre. As a Felician-sponsored ministry, Mission Integration encompasses the processes, programs, relationships, and experiences that deepen the understanding, commitment, and lived expression of the organization’s mission among team members, volunteers, guests, senior leaders, and board members.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Develops, coordinates, and delivers Charism, Mission, and Mission Core Values orientation and ongoing formation programs for Board members, management, and staff;
  • Provides leadership in coordinating and implementing the annual Mission and Heritage Week;
  • Assists in the planning and coordination of mission-related events, celebrations, retreats, and formation sessions opportunities.
  • Promotes the visible expression of the ministry’s Catholic and Felician-Franciscan identity by ensuring the appropriate use of mission-related symbols and artwork throughout the organization;
  • Collaborates with the Director of Mission Integration in developing and monitoring the annual budget for Mission Integration activities;
  • Supports the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the ministry’s Charism and Mission Integration Plan, in collaboration with the Director of Mission Integration and the Felician Services Vice President, Charism & Mission Integration;
  • Prepares and submits monthly Charism and Mission reports to Felician Services and the Director of Mission Integration;
  • Prepares and submits mid-year and year-end accountability reports to the Felician Services Vice President, Charism & Mission Integration and the Director of Mission Integration;
  • Participates in the monthly Charism and Mission Integration meetings hosted by Felician Services;
  • Attends the annual Mission Leader Forum sponsored by Felician Services;
  • Maintains flexibility to attend and provide support for special events and activities outside regular working hours, as required.
  • Complies with all organizational health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

  • Academic preparation and/or demonstrated experience in Catholic religious studies, communications, theology, mission integration, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of Catholic principles, values, and social teaching;
  • Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, retreats, or other adult learning experiences;
  • Knowledge of successful engagement strategies;
  • Experience building positive relationships with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, social, gender, and religious backgrounds;
  • Ability to translate organizational mission, values, and strategic priorities into practical initiatives that engage staff, clients, and other relevant community stakeholders;
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail;
  • Familiarity with the Felician-Franciscan charism is considered an asset;
  • Experience working within the not-for-profit sector is considered an asset;
  • Experience planning and coordinating community engagement activities is considered an asset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Experience with Canva and other design or content creation software is an asset.
