Position: ABA Therapist
Location: Main Office at 50 HT Road Richmond Hill Ontario
Reports to: Manager, Disability Services

Position Overview:
The ABA Therapist provides client-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive support to individuals and families served by CCSYR. The ABA therapist is skilled in implementing behavior plans and evidence-based ABA interventions to support clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role involves collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote skill development, independence, and positive outcomes. CPI and CPR certification are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and implement ABA therapy sessions independently, ensuring fidelity to individualized treatment plans.
- Perform functional behavior assessments and develop comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Monitor and analyze client progress, adjusting interventions as needed to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to promote skill generalization and client success.
- Stay current with advancements in ABA practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to address specific behaviors and understand clients’ overall abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with clearly defined goals and strategies for achieving them.
- Deliver therapy using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.
- Support clients in developing life skills that promote independence.
- Regularly reassess and revise treatment plans to ensure continued progress.
- Provide guidance and updates to family members and caregivers, including strategies for reinforcing therapy at home.
- Maintain and update client records, including progress reports and documentation in line with Canadian clinical standards.
- Stay current with advancements in ABA theory, techniques, and therapeutic best practices.
Skills and competencies:
- In-depth understanding of ABA principles, therapeutic methods, and best practices.
- Knowledge of developmental and intellectual disabilities is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Observant, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow supervision instructions.
- Computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and data tracking.
- Flexible, patient, and committed to continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Psychology, Behavioral Science, or a related field.
- Up to 3 years of experience supporting individuals with ASD or other developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge and training related to ABA or IBI are mandatory.
- CPI and CPR certification required.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario driver’s license.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills (e.g., Farsi, Mandarin, Cantonese) are an asset.
- Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards for inclusive service delivery.
