This role (contract position, full time, 37.5 hours per week) provides direct support services to newcomer women and underserved visible minority women, including crisis intervention, safety planning, case management, and emotional support. The Social Worker plays a critical role in helping to access resources, navigate complex systems, and move toward healing and stability.

The ideal candidate brings both clinical insight and a social justice lens, contributing to a collaborative, survivor-centered team. The Social Worker will help foster an environment of dignity, empowerment, and healing for clients across diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide trauma-informed, client-centered case management and advocacy for women effected by GBV, including safety planning, resource navigation, and emotional support.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop individualized service plans in collaboration with each client.
- Facilitate referrals to internal and external services, including housing, legal aid, medical care, mental health counseling, and employment assistance.
- Provide crisis intervention and short-term supportive counseling as needed, maintaining appropriate boundaries and ethical practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with funder, program, and organizational standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and supervision.
- Support outreach and engagement efforts, as well as group activities and workshops that build community and resilience among survivors.
- Stay current on best practices in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and culturally responsive service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work (BSW or MSW) or a closely related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with survivors of gender-based violence or in trauma-informed, community-based settings.
- Deep understanding of the dynamics of gender-based violence and the structural barriers that impact survivors.
- Strong crisis intervention, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including immigrant, and other historically marginalized populations.
- Familiarity with confidentiality laws, mandated reporting, and social service systems.
- Commitment to social justice, equity, and survivor empowerment.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills highly valued.
